One thing I love about being a photographer is watching families grow through my camera lens. I love being a part of families and being able to document their most precious moments in life. I have been fortunate enough to be able to be there for the Doud family’s most special moments. Braxton is so loved, and I am so happy for Jen & Chad. I was really looking forward to Julio & Michelle’s baby belly shoot! I have really only done a few maternity photo shoots in the past few years, so it was going to be super fun for me doing something that I dont get to do often! They are having a baby boy in a few short months, and I am so excited for them! The nursery is a “safari” theme – hints the awesome safari stuffed animals in a few of the photos! Also a note to their son, what they wish upon him in his life (the photos with the sign.) I thought that was just precious. Congratulations you two!

Jason + Madeleine [Downtown Beaufort SC Wedding Photography]

Jason & Madeleine were married in an intimate ceremony in downtown Beaufort. The ceremony was so beautiful and very emotional for everyone. I was so happy to be a part of it! They had their reception at the Beaufort Arsenal, which was pretty unique in itself! All the details were so pretty, with a little bit of modern mixed with vintage.

I don’t normally post a lot about what happends in my personal life. As I sit here trying to find the right words to say, a sadness fills my heart. This is Chelsie. She is a senior in highschool. She has an amazing family who loves her, who happens to be myself and my husbands closest friends. ( They are more like our second family, actually. ) She is full of laughter, and love, and attitude. I remember the night we met. We went to outback steakhouse with her mom, while her dad was still deployed to the middle east – who she hadn’t met yet. She ordered dessert first, then dinner. Which Beca was the coolest mom ever for letting her newly adopted daughter do that. My daughter Allyson just loved her. She made her laugh. When Allyson turned three, we had a party for her at our home. The thing that really stuck out to me that day was when Chelsie came in the door, ran up to Ally and just held her. “Happy Birthday Ally!” She kept saying, swinging her around. When we would go to their home, Ally would be so happy that we were going to see her “favorite three friends.” Who happend to be Chelsie and her two younger siblings. Chelsie was always so good with the little ones. Just yesterday, Ally asked to go see her “favorite three friends.” With tears in my eyes, I had to tell her that she no longer had three friends, there only remained two. That Chelsie was in a better place now. I am so happy that I was able to know Chelsie for the last few years of her life, and the joy she brought to my daughter. Sadly, Chelsie was killed in a car accident less than a week ago. My heart broke for my friends and their family when I heard the news. Tonight was her funeral. So many people came, there were not enough seats – and people had to stand in the back of the room. She touched so many lives, and so many people loved her and her heart. 3 weeks before her accident, I was able to take some senior portraits for her and their very first family photos together. This was the greatest gift that I could give to them, and I cry everytime I think about how amazing it is for this family to be able to cherish these photos of her forever. To remember her smiling face, and how she was just weeks before her accident. To Chelsie, you are so loved and you will be missed my friend. And To my dearest friends Beca & Neil, we love you guys so much. We are here for you and your family, always.
